Swim Team

If your swimmer can swim one length of the pool independently, then they should be on the SWIM TEAM. Swim team is designed to help swimmers improve their stroke techniques. Your swimmer will get roughly 20 hours of group instruction led by 2 coaches who were both previously swim team members at Cambridge. 

Practices are each weekday, June 17-July 26 with 1-2 additional fun nights TBD. Attendance every day is highly encouraged, however, we understand that it is summer and time for travel and they will have other comittments. Just make sure your coach knows when they will be gone. Swimmers will be assigned a timeslot (8am or 9am) once registration closes. Once meets start, there will not be any Thursday practices and Friday practices will be fun games. 

Mandatory all member parent meeting at 8:55am on June 17.  

Meets are Thursday afternoons, starting June 27. In general, they will start at 4pm. Swimmers are required to arrive at 3pm at away meets or 2:30pm for home meets. Meets are against other small pools in the Salem/Keiser area. They are a lot of fun and all swimmers compete. Ribbons given for all kids 8 or under and for places 1-3 for older swimmers.

Meets are only successful with the help of parents. Parents will be required to volunteer for at least the equivalent of one full meet.

If transportation for practices or meets are a problem, please reach out to Melissa, our swim activities coordinator. She can help set up carpools for you.

All-City swim meet will be July 27. All swimmers are highly encouraged to compete.

VERY IMPORTANT for multiple swimmers - Please note, we need a form filled out for EACH swimmer. If you have 3 or more swimmers - please choose all 3 options for tickets (1 swimmer, 2nd swimmer and however many you need for free for >2 swimmers) so we get a form for each one.
