F A Q
Q: Do I need to be a member to swim at Cambridge?
A: Yes. Cambridge is a member-owned community pool. If you are not a member and are interested in becoming a member, please send us a message through "Contact Us" and we can arrange to meet at the pool for a tour.

Q: What are the pool hours?
A: The pool hours are posted to the homepage. Parties are shown on the pool calendar, linked in the upper right side of the menu.

Q: Who do I contact regarding a new or existing membership?
A: If you are new, please fill out the contact us form linked in the top menu. If you are a member, the quickest response will happen if you are logged in and can chat with us (icon in lower right corner). If you are not logged in, we cannot get back to you to respond to the chat.
Q: How do I get my key? Can I get more than one?
A: The best time to pickup your key is during the opening day BBQ. If you are unable to come during those hours, you will need to send us a chat or "Contact Us" message. . Keys will not be delivered on an individual basis unless there are extenuating circumstances. Extra keys are $10 each and can be purchased on the website.
Q: Do you offer swim lessons?
A: Yes! Swim lessons are offered to both members and non members. Go here to register.
Q: Can I book a pool party?
A: Pool parties are available to members and non-members (for a higher fee). Bookings are requested online but are not final until guard coverage is confirmed by Melissa.
-
Please request your party at least 2 weeks in advance. We need to schedule an extra guard for the occasion. Fill out this form to request it.
-
Once a lifeguard is secured and payment is made, Our swim activities coordinator will confirm your party with you. It is not booked until this happens.

Q: Are Lifeguards always on duty?
A: Yes, lifeguards are scheduled during all open hours starting in 2024. However, if a guard is unable to make their shift, we may not be able to get the shift covered. Insurance requires us to have a guard at all times so if the shift can't get covered, the pool may need to close. A sign will always be posted if a lifeguard is not on duty (or during a lifeguard's break). Please remember, even when a lifeguard is there, it is your responsibility to monitor your household members and guests.
Q: Can I bring food and drink?
A: Yes, food and drink is allowed. There is NO FOOD allowed on the pool deck, this includes the kiddie pool. Please keep all food on the grassy area. Alcohol is NOT permitted at any time.
Q: Are pool toys allowed?
A: Yes, pool toys and floaties are allowed. At busier times, the lifeguard may ask swimmers to take larger floaties or games out of the pool. All toys are used at the discretion of the lifeguard. Scuba gear and swim fins may be permitted when the pool is not crowded.

Q: What is the best way to stay up to date on pool closures?
A: While it is rare, the pool does occasionally close early on holidays, for weather or when chemicals need balancing. We make our best effort to post these last minute closures as quickly as possible. It is best to follow us on Instagram and/or Facebook and we will also email members. We also started using text messaging for closures. To opt in, send "Cambridge" to (503) 378-7946 (pool phone number).

Q: How can I help out?
A: We are a non profit pool, any additional help, either monetary or with personal time, is of great benefit. Please reach out at membership@cambridgepool.org if you'd like to contribute further. We would also love to see you help out at the pool clean up days in May and September!
